Audax are well known for their fine tweeters, among these the 25mm soft dome TW025A0 used in numerous high-fidelity loudspeakers world-wide, including such brands as Mission, Von Schweikert, Wilson, etc. The TW025A0 is a high-quality 8 ohm 25mm voice coil tweeter, a direct replacement for older Audax 100 mm circular flange tweeters but with improved performance. (Also see Audax TW025A1-12X9 s a replacement for rectangular flanged Audax tweeters.) The TW025A0 features a solid aluminum faceplate, replaceable voice-coil assembly and very linear response. This is the newest version of the older Audax or Poyldax tweeter HD100D25 in 8 ohm.
The catenary (curved) shape of this textile dome provides stiffness at the tip, so the moving mass behaves more like a perfect piston. This prevents out of phase break-up and the resulting sound is smooth, clean and effortless. Low resonant frequency. Flange 100mm (3.94") Cut out 73.5mm (2.89") Depth 23.5mm (0.94").
There are 4 mounting screws that attach the faceplate to the magnet. The spacing from one screw to the next is 34mm. This information might be useful if you have another faceplate shape (Audax or otherwise) with 4 holes and you need to attach it to a new motor on this tweeter.
