ScanSpeak Limited Edition D2604/832002 1" Textile Dome Tweeter

D2604/832002 PDF Specification Sheet

The D2604/832002 is a Limited Edition textile dome tweeter with large roll surround and a Titanium voice coil former. Drivers built with titanium formers tend to have more air and detail. It also employs an optimized rear chamber and sturdy aluminum faceplate. This tweeter has all the engineering features you would expect in a very high end product, but at a reasonable price.
  • Textile dome tweeter, wide surround for extended frequency response
  • Ferrite magnet system with copper cap to reduce inductance modulation
  • Rear chamber for optimized low end extension
  • Voice coil with CCAW wire and Titanium bobbin
  • Painted die cast Aluminum face plate
  • Optimized internal airflow and dampening
  • 4 ohm nominal impedance
  • Quick Connects - QC205R for positive and QC110B for negative
The speakers are sold as each, but packaged in decorative foam filled pair boxes.

There is only a limited number of these tweeters available, so don't wait.

I pulled it out of the box and wired it up immediately. It sounds very smooth, almost soft, except you can hear all the higer frequencies clearly. You can sense how low the double-champer allows this tweeter to go. It is a pleasure to listen this driver.

It can also handle a fairly extreme amount of power.

I consider a pair of these a Great Value.

Compares favourably with any of my ring radiator, planar, AMT, or true ribbon tweeters at hand.

Doesn't shove the output at the listener, rather, it sets a nice table and invites one to dinner.

This is a smooth tweeter, but everything is here, the smoothness is a result of no parts being spotlit. It's the first Scanspeak tweeter I've tried, and the crossover was easy, I don't find it necessary to add a zobel network, eq it, at all.
Works especially well with an active crossover, and is good enough to reveal the presence or absence of a protection capacitor.

A real treat to hear this with a 5.5" Revelator midwoofer, with 4th order filtering it plays wonderfully cleanly, low distortion sound down to 1750 hertz, where I prefer to cross it.

So a great price, solid performance, and easy to design a passive crossover for tweeter, that's naturally detailed and smooth as I could wish for.

Makes me wonder how much better the higher priced Scanspeaks may be, but there's no hurry, here.
