ScanSpeak Classic 21W/8555-10, 8" Woofer

I never would have believed that a single driver was worth this price, but I ventured forth to try them in an older pair of Paradigm 7se cabinets. WIth Audax 1 inch domes, using a 12db generic crossover at 2500hz. Bryston amp produces clear well defined, deep bass. without a sub. with a sub even better low end. I never thought that a great quality driver such as these and the audax could make such an audible difference. Formerly a B&W fan but diy is helping me realize more than a few things about mass produced audio gear. I bought 2 more and now own 4 of these. Looking build a pair incorporating both sets and a custom cabinet and crossover. I haven heard these in a sealed cabinet yet, but the 1.5cuft cabinets I have are ported with a stock Paradigm port and the bass/lower midrange present digital details I haven't heard before in my music listening. Now I think I know why this brand is used in many higher quality manufactured brands.
