Re-issue of the Classic Vifa P17WJ00 now produced by Scan-Speak. Replaces all older P17WJ models.

We have sold out of the last production run on this discontinued driver.

The best drop-in replacement is the Hi-Vi woven cone L6-8R 8 ohm, or L6-4R if you have a 4 ohm woofer. These Hi-Vi drivers have a similar specs, a higher end cone, more advanced basket (ventilated below the spider), and the same 170mm outside diameter as the original Vifa/Scan-Speak/Seas drivers.

There are also many OEM specially labeled versions too, including Thiel.

Any Seas or Vifa with a "17" in the part number.

If you have a 8 ohm version of any of these, this is a drop in replacement.

Possible box alignments:

0.25 to 0.35 cubic foot sealed for 3dB down of about 85Hz
0.5 to 0.6 cubic foot with 1.5" vent by 4" long for 3dB down of about 54Hz

Excellent Replacement!

I purchased this woofer to replace a Vifa original in my Definitive Technology Bp10. While the Vifa's put out amazing sound the dust caps are a bit more flexible and ripple when the voice coils heats up after a while of loud playing, not this woofer the dust cap stays completely in form while delivering that same amazing sound of the Vifa's. Just this one detail makes me consider this replacement a step up from the already great performance of the originals. My
speaker is sounding good a full again. Excellent replacement!
