The AS250-8-555 is an 11 inch bass driver with aluminum honeycomb sandwich dome- the first in an entirely new approach to accuton speaker design. In the history of loudspeaker drivers, only minor modifications to the traditional speaker construction have been brought to the market. Our proprietary driver concept shows revolutionary features that will bring new life to the world of high-end audio. Designed to give you deep and precise bass with fairly small box volume AND feature acoustic centres ahead of the speaker baffle to allow seamless time alignment. An exceptionally hard aluminum sandwich dome was developed for the CELL bass drivers that allows for negligible delay and energy storage. The hidden surround serves for reduced outer diameter and maximum excursion of +/- 16mm. A new developed spider shape makes huge excursion without compression possible. An ideal acoustical center has been achieved, identical to our CELL tweeters and midranges. Its novel designed overhung motor combines the advantages of traditional over- and underhung designs, delivering both high linear excursion and ultra low distortion. We recommend our AS250-8-555 for an application from 20 Hz - 600 Hz.

CELL concept drivers are characterized by the following main features:

• Same acoustic center for tweeters and midranges for time coherency in a flat front
• Perfect signal settle and piston behavior of the dome even close to the dome resonance
• Acoustically decoupled clamping mechanism providing fast and easy assembly into a circular hole
• Small outer diameter
• Very low distortion - in the magnitude of electronic devices - even at high power levels
• Steady decay of higher order harmonics
• High bandwidth
