Fantastic little driver for small sealed box / nearfield use, better sound quality than consumer drivers. Uses QC205 for quick connects.
The CHN40 is Markaudio’s smallest driver in its entry level line up after the CHN50 and CHN70, new compact 2.5" unit suitable for use in smaller fullrange or nearfield loudspeaker systems or even as a quality mid-tweeter for low-crossover multiway designs or array applications.
The low-mass voice coil, suspension and shallow profile magnesium alloy cone are custom designs for the CHN40. The pressed steel frame is designed to be very open and allow airflow to be as free as possible to the rear of the cone. Response extends from resonance to beyond 25KHz, and the impedance rise at higher frequencies is only modest, due to the careful motor design.
The CHN40, like the larger driver in this series is versatile, easy to install, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications.
Good for a 1 to 1.5 liter sealed enclosure. (60 to 90 cubic inches). 3dB down at 140Hz and 6dB down at 105Hz.
Small to medium sized speakers are usually lower power designs. The power rating is given in the technical data for each audio driver. For a reliable long service life, please operate your new speakers with care. For the first 100 hours, operate them at very low volumes. After this period, gradually increase the volume to a normal listening level. If you see the cone of the speakers making large movements, immediately turn the volume down. This will protect the speaker and your human hearing from damage. Factory mechanical defects for a period of 1 year. Excessive hard use (over-driving) and other damage caused during customer use is excluded from our warranty.
