3“ Bass-Midrange driver with midrange preference, phase plug construction, 3-layer Hexacone Sandwich cone, spatial and open reproduction, uncolored sound performance. Latest version of the Eton Hexacone that has been a great performer for many years. The 3 layer Hexacone is nicely detailed, yet warm sounding. Most drivers can't provide both detail and warmth, but the Hexacone's always have fast and detailed reproduction, authentic staging and uncolored sound. The 3-212 is midrange- preferenced, but could be used as a little woofer in lower power situations. The warmth of this driver would lend itself to a high end mini monitor speaker. Also consider for use in autosound applications. The Hex Symphony II Series is the logical development of our successful patented Symphony I Series.

Eton are known for their detail, accuracy, and neutrality, and the new Symphony drivers are also affordable.  All of ETON’s expertise has been poured into the development of the Symphony Series. For the first time, the specially patented production process enabled the three-layered sandwich type of construction in combination with aramid fibres and their hexagonal internal structure. Maximum rigidity and excellent internal absorbing action are therefore guaranteed. The manually applied coating also supports neutral cone behaviour and provides the surface with visual depth. The Symphony II midrange drivers and woofers create unique sound spectrums typical of Hex. The sound features are harmonic, smooth reflections of the overtones and distinctive, light midranges. A precise and powerful bass is created in the woofer range. All Symphony II chassis are characterized by a high degree of musical imaging and an impressive soundscape. The ferrite magnet geometry's special design makes the magnetic field almost perfectly symmetrical. Multiple ventilation and the flow-supporting cast basket guarantees minimum compression effects at large amplitudes.

• Sealed box of 0.75 to 1.5 liters (46 to 90 cubic inches) for a 3dB down of about 330Hz.
• Vented box of 1 liter (61 cubic inches) with 0.75" diameter vent by 4" long for 3dB down of 208Hz, actual roll off of response near 100Hz.
