Compact full range driver with high Q and mica-paper cone! The mica improves the stiffness-to-weight ratio.
- Paper cone, MICA, fiber strand materials.
- High stability
- Neutral sound presentation
- Wide operating range to 28KHz
- Multiple use: Full range / near-field project / Mid-Tweeter
- Low-mass voice coil, suspensions
- Shallow cone profile
- Steel chassis optimizes airflow
The CHN40P MICA is our third MICA driver. This affordable, compact 2 ½" drive unit is suitable for use in small, full-range near-field projects or as a quality mid-tweeter for low-crossover multiway designs with our CHN50P MICA and CHP90 MICA, as well as line-array designs. The cone is formed from paper, mica, and fiber-strand materials, creating high stability in the emitting surface across the usable frequency range.
F Zero is 106Hz; VAS is +1.168 Litres, and SPL 85.93dB 1m/2.83v value. The useable frequency range (depending on box design) is from 120Hz to 28KHz. We have built a gentle rise into the high-frequency response, as seen in some of our more expensive drive units, to enhance positioning flexibility. The sound presentation is neutral and the Thiele / Small parameters, with a generous 3.5mm (1-way mechanical) Xmax are balanced for ease of use. The CHN40P MICA stands out with its unique design features. The low-mass voice coil, suspension, and shallow profile MICA cone are all innovative designs. The pressed steel frame is designed to be very open, allowing airflow to be as free as possible to the rear of the cone. The response extends from resonance beyond 20KHz, and the impedance rise at higher frequencies is near flat.

Markaudio provides users with high-quality listening experiences by continuing to develop advanced mechanically engineered audio drivers at affordable prices.
Small to medium sized speakers are usually lower power designs. The power rating is given in the technical data for each audio driver. For a reliable long service life, please operate your new speakers with care. For the first 100 hours, operate them at very low volumes. After this period, gradually increase the volume to a normal listening level. If you see the cone of the speakers making large movements, immediately turn the volume down. This will protect the speaker and your human hearing from damage. Factory mechanical defects for a period of 2 year. Excessive hard use (overdriving) and other damage caused during customer use is excluded from our warranty.
