Audax TW025A28 1" Gold Dome Tweeter -100mm- 8 ohm- 94.5dB

Audax drivers are used in a number of finished loudspeaker products , from Mission to Von Schweikert , Wilson etc. The TW025A28 is a gold plated titanium dome. The catenary shape of the dome reduces distortion at the tip of the dome. This prevents out of phase break-up and the resulting sound is smooth, clean and effortless. Made in France. The TW025A28 features an ultra-linear response, vented pole piece, and damped and tuned rear chamber. It also boasts a solid aluminum faceplate and offers extremely good spatial dispersion with high SPL 94.5dB (2.83V/1m).

I replaced a set of Dynavox metal tweeters in a pair of Pinnacle platinum towers with these Audax gold domes. Amazing clarity and detail.

I replaced with these Audax tweeters my HORNING Agathon Ultimate DX4's (around 20k) original tweeters (as they blow out after 2 years and Mr. Horning was not able to provide replacement items during the warranty period)

They are far better.

These tweeters will reveal everything both good and bad there response climbs as the frequency rises. They have loads of sparkle and shimmer.
So they will reveal harsh or bright caps or cheap components upstream not to mention bad source material.If a track has sibilance these tweeters will not be forgiving of it.
But when you get to a good recording Wow!
I would recommend spending an extra $2.00 and getting the felt rings for them when you order.
Also give a new crossover time to break in as green capacitors will shift in DCR for 60 to up to 400 hours and at times may sound shrill or thick and these tweeters will not like it. I use a old stop watch to keep track of break in.
I will say these tweeters are down right holographic in the right layout.
I strongly recommend them for high efficiency speakers,they should be listed as super tweeters though as they don't roll off and I'm sure they go well beyond 20,000 hz.

These tweeters are a high performance bargain and warrant at least twice there price by a company that has been advancing the performance of dome tweeters for decades. There price is our good fortune.
