Description

SB Acoustics SB29RDCN-C000-4 Ring Dome Tweeter with Neodymium Magnet

Spec sheet: SB29RDCN-C000-4 PDF

This tweeter features a proprietary fabric ring dome with a large roll surround. Stabilizing the center of the dome greatly reduces distortion and brings the acoustic center of the tweeter back to the voice coil, with the added benefit of increased sensitivity. The tweeter has a chambered back designed to provide a lower resonance frequency and reduce back wave reflections from the dome. A copper cap is used on the pole piece.

Advanced Features

  • Non-resonant diaphragm design for minimum high frequency break-up
  • CCAW voice coil for low moving mass
  • Long life silver lead wires
  • Low resonance frequency
  • Copper cap on pole piece for reduced voice coil inductance and minimum phase shift
  • Inherently shielded neodymium motor system
  • Internal pressure equalization and flow resistor for non-resonant coupling of cavities
  • Compact design

Incredible tweeter! I have heard pretty much everything and you would be
hard pressed to find a much better tweeter for twice the cost. The small flange allows a very close mounting to the mid which I feel is very important. The design also pushes the acoustic center back to better line up with the mid.
The driver has no problem playing LOUDLY crossed over around 3K @ 12 dB per octave. It really is very sensitive and very flat. I have used them in $12K studio monitors (with black grills) so nobody knows what they are hearing, one client thought they were high end ribbons (like Raal) for over a year. One of the biggest mixers on the planet right now called the sound "effortless". Get some and get back to the music!

Using a pair of these in the dash of my Tundra with Focal midbass drivers in the doors, crossover point of 2.2k @ 18db. They sound great, even at high power levels.
