Spec Sheet PDF
This fabric dome tweeter features a copper cap on pole piece for reduced voice coil inductance and minimum phase shift, inherently shielded neodymium motor system, and compact design. Extended on-axis response.
This tweeter is used in Neil Blanchard Designs MLTL-6 speaker build. Flatpacks are available here.
- CCAW voice coil for low moving mass
- Long life silver lead wires
- Low resonance frequency
- Copper cap on pole piece for reduced voice coil inductance and minimum phase shift
- Fine weave soft fabric dome for smooth frequency response
- Inherently shielded neodymium motor system
- Internal pressure equalization and flow resistor for non-resonant coupling of cavities
- Compact design

The response of this tweeter is amazingly smooth, flat, and extended - it is nearly flat to above 20kHz and hits 30kHz only a few dB down. It also has a relatively low Fs of 960Hz, which helps it be crossed over smoothly. I really like the off axis response - it rolls off gently and extends to about 15kHz well off axis, which helps it "disappear".
A less obvious feature of this tweeter, is the smaller diameter face plate; which lets it be mounted closer to the woofer/midrange. This gets the acoustic centers closer together, and can help the soundstage and imaging of the speaker.
This tweeter is excellent, and is a wonderful value. It is a soft dome tweeter that meets a very high level of performance.
I am using it with an equally excellent woofer from SB Acoustics, the SB16PFCR25-4 ( https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-6-7-woofers-sb-acoustics/sb-acoustics-sb16pfcr25-4-6-paper-cone-woofer-4-ohm-round/) ; in 2 different mass loaded transmission line speakers - the MLTL-6 stand mount, and the Tower 6 floorstander.

I have the XSim response graphs on my website; that show how well this tweeter works.

For the price you cannot beat them. They measure very flat, super low distortion and sound fantastic! They will take lots of power too! I have them crossed over at 2200 hz 4th order. I had them playing 109 db at 3 ft and they still sounded fine. Measured distortion at 3 ft 90 db was .3% and lower. Also, very good off axis.
