Fostex T360FD Folded Diaphragm AMT Tweeter
The latest from Fostex! Brand-new AMT design featuring neodymium magnet and "folded diaphragm" technology.
Folded DiaphragmThe acoustic state of the "Folded Diaphragm," which is different from cone, horn, dome, or RP, opens a new door to music reproduction. It creates a high-density sound image with a powerful presence, and its expression of Rock and Metal music is noteworthy. The lower operating frequency limit is approximately 2.5 kHz, which is not low, but it has a wide reproduction bandwidth that can be combined with 10 cm and 16 cm woofers, as well as full range speakers.
Acoustic DesignThe magnetic circuit and chassis that support the diaphragm are designed by carefully examining the materials with emphasis on the frequency response, acoustic condition, shape, and dimensions.
Gold-plated TerminalsTo take full advantage of the acoustic performance, gold-plated terminals (#205 t0.8) are used for the input terminals. Also included are cables using SFC103 core wire with crimped gold plated faston terminals (#205 t0.8) for the connection.
Diaphragm and Principle of Sound EmissionThe Folded Diaphragm is made of PI (p
olyimide, high-tech heat-resistant plastic) base material with aluminum patterns corresponding to voice coil windings. The patterns are arranged so that the current flows in opposite directions on the vertical surfaces facing each other when folded regularly. The principle of sound emission is that the vertical surfaces of the diaphragm move in opposite directions by applying magnetic flux, and sound waves are emitted when the air in the space between the vertical surfaces is pushed out and pulled in.
The PI substrate has an aluminum pattern equivalent to the voice coil winding, and the pattern is applied to the vertical side.
