The C51-6-286 is a 2 inch midrange with ultra hard ceramic dome in a 86 mm body. A proprietary clamping technique provides easy mounting and adapting to individual frontplates. As the dome breakup is above the audible range and well damped, no dome cutouts are required. A unique FEA optimized underhung motor design with vented titanium voice coil former and double neodymium magnet guarantees low energy storage, excellent heat transfer and high excursion capability for low power compression and ultra low distortion. The new designed soft fabric surround centers the moving parts with improved linearity. We recommend our C51-6-286 in an application above 800 Hz.

Worth Every Penny

I actually started a project using this midrange, but got distracted by COVID and life. Having finished, I wish that I had not procrastinated.
Paired with the C158-8-085, I have been blown away from the detail that comes out of music that I thought I knew well. Definite improvements in transient response and separation of instruments and voices. Installing this driver is a little peculiar but effective. Also, these things weight a lot for their size, mostly because of the magnetic shielding - use caution with ball drivers for tightening the two captive screws.
