This speaker sounds fantastic no matter the location. We have heard it in-wall, in-ceiling, in-mantel, etc. It is also perfect for use in home theater applications. The coincidental design allows it to sound nearly the same from all directions, which makes it a perfect choice for a center channel speaker.

The PP/TPX based cone matches ideally with the adaptive rubber surround. The result is an outstandingly smooth frequency response from the mid woofer. The coaxially arranged pre-coated fabric dome high frequency unit has a low resonance frequency, and integrates with the cone driver to a point source. The cone of the woofer acts as a horn loading for the tweeter, and the chassis of the dome unit represents the throat of this horn. Extremely stiff and stable injection molded metal basket, keeps the critical components in perfect alignment. Large windows in the basket both above and below the spider reduce sound reflection, air flow noise and cavity resonance to a minimum.

Vented box of 0.3 cubic feet with 1.5” diameter port by 6” long for 3dB down of 57Hz
Vented box of 0.4 cubic feet with 2” diameter port by 6” long for 3dB down of 52Hz
Vented box of 0.5 cubic feet with 2” diameter port by 7” long for 3dB down of 47Hz
Vented box of 0.6 cubic feet with 2” diameter port by 6.5” long for 3dB down of 43Hz

This driver is used in the Loki kit speaker, and the crossover is also sold separately.

Purchased someones loki kit with upgraded crossover, repurposed similar sized box I had morphing into the seas recommended dimensions. It's not one of those speakers where you wowed by initial brightness, it is a nice mellow speaker but has all the detail there and the bass response is just right for the speaker size. Not where you have to crank up to 90db listening level to get the even sound. That is why sometimes the manufacturer, at least a well respected one like Seas, has a crossover design that handles many metrics well. While yes a lower sensitivity speaker, i like that as I use in a smaller listening space and like volume flexibility and I achieve distinct listening levels - that is can listen at low volumes or loud volumes and not feel compromised at lower listening levels. Anyway, but after a little bit a listening you realize how many things this speaker does great versus what's lacking. It has me itching to try more seas kits.
