Loudspeakers
Speaker drivers are the components in a loudspeaker that convert electrical audio signals into sound waves. Different drivers are designed to reproduce specific frequency ranges — woofers handle bass, tweeters handle high frequencies, midrange drivers cover vocals and instruments, and full-range drivers reproduce most of the audible spectrum from a single cone. Choosing the right driver is the foundation of any successful DIY speaker build or restoration. Madisound carries drivers from leading manufacturers, including SEAS, Scan-Speak, SB Acoustics, Fostex, Markaudio, Morel, and Dayton Audio. Manufacturer specification sheets are available for most models in the Madisound Technical Library.
